Admiral, the world’s oldest soccer brand, will become Deportivo Lake Mary’s official kit provider from the 2018 season as a multi-year agreement is unveiled. The club play in the UPSL Florida Gold Coast Conference. As official kit supplier, the agreement entails Admiral outfitting all adult and youth players, as well as coaching staff.
The UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA. Admiral is the exclusive teamwear supplier to the league and partners with many of the leagues’ more than 90 teams in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah and Virginia.
“We are so excited to have Deportivo Lake Mary working with us,” Admiral Sports CEO Paul Hamburger stated. “We are delighted to have another member of the UPSL with Admiral.”
Deportivo Lake Mary was founded in 2017 by Alfredo Forero, a Colombian-born laser engineer working in the industrial manufacturing industry. The club is based out of Lake Mary, FL and provides players an opportunity to play at a high level whilst reducing the player’s cost to play.
The club are determined to impact the “pay to play” approach to soccer in the US by reducing player expenses. While many pro development teams in Florida charge their players a fee to play Forero doesn’t subscribe to that approach. He believes players make many sacrifices to train, play and battle through a season. Together with possible injuries the last thing a player needs is to worry about the cost of playing at a higher level. In addition to partnering with Admiral the club have signed other partnerships to ensure their strategy is supported.
Forero, said about the partnership “I decided to partner with Admiral because the quality of the uniforms is good, the prices are affordable, and the turnaround on the uniforms is great. The company is also very professional.”
Admiral is a legendary brand, having been worn by some of the biggest names in the sporting world. The England National Team, Manchester United, and the New York Cosmos are just some of the clubs that once donned Admiral. In fact, Admiral has supplied most of the current EPL teams in addition to being the largest brand in the original NASL. The company, a pioneering brand in the truest sense, was recently the subject of a British TV documentary called Get Shirty.
Admiral has now grown into a major player in the North American market, becoming one of the largest brands supplying pro development soccer teams in the U.S. Today Admiral is the brand of champions, being worn by the 2012 North American Soccer League (NASL) Champion Tampa Bay Rowdies, the 2013 Premier Development League (PDL) Champion Austin Aztex, and the 2014 & 2016 PDL Champion Michigan Bucks, 2016 USL Champions Rochester Rhinos. Admiral remains a pivotal figure for USL PRO & PDL, National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), Major Arena Soccer League (MASL), United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), US Youth Soccer state associations, and youth teams across the country.
